ESL G3-6 Update

With just a short week before the holiday, we took the time for some review and evaluation of the topics we have been discussing.

The focus of this week was centered on being able to choose between appropriate homophones by using them in context. The students were evaluated separately on their ability to understand the function of the word by taking it from a word bank. They were then tested on their capacity to remember the word after this first exercise. Many of the students were able to consider different approaches on how to best use the first task to enhance their memory for the 2nd task.

The second review revolved around pronouns and the students' ability to replace nouns in context. They were also challenged to group common and proper nouns with their appropriate pronouns using a word bank as well. Some still found this challenging, so pronoun-noun agreement will still be an area of focus for a portion of the class going forward.

I look forward to the following week to see how we continue jumping the hurdles standing before us.

Here's to a Happy Moon Festival to everyone! Enjoy!

Yours truly,

Mr. Wolef
