This week was an opportunity to more deeply develop their stories and help each other in the development of stories by proofreading and critiquing one another. They were able to refer to a checklist and search for essential story elements they were asked to include initially.
Alongside the continuation of this activity, the students were also tasked with developing sentences in a sentence race game that they did in groups or individually based on the class. They were able to do a more challenging form of this game focusing on subject - verb agreement and article use in which they had a wider selection of cards from which to choose. Many of the students showed quick improvement during play and worked through initial confusion to develop more clarity in their basic sentence structure.
As always, I look forward to the students' continued progress as we move forward in the coming weeks.
