This week was a fun start to working with the ESL classes from Grade 3 all the way to Grade 6. We used this time to establish the year's rules and class expectations. It was also a fantastic opportunity to learn about the students' interests and expectations of themselves.
The students in each grade were able to show their strengths and weaknesses while completing a grammar review and their first journal entry. Grade 3 classes showed some competitive energy in some individual writing race games while displaying a strong use of vocabulary and creative thinking.
Each grade had an opportunity to display their own knowledge of proofreading skills through doing a peer review of each other's first writing assignment. We all have a clearer idea of areas we have a chance to focus on improving this year. It should be an exciting one if this week proves to be any indication!
Yours truly,
Mr. Wolef
